Electrosyntec® Boosts Engine Performance

Mannheim, March 18, 2004. Fuchs Petrolub AG, the world’s largest independent lubricant specialist, has added a new performance–boosting motor oil to its range of motorcycle lubricants. Fuchs’ race-oil based Silkolene Pro 4 Plus 5W40 premium lubricant was developed in cooperation with motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki. Thanks to its new formula and the unique Electrosyntec® technology, this product improves the efficiency and performance of the engine and reduces wear.

For years now, Fuchs has been supporting the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer not only as a main racing sponsor, but also as a lubricant supplier. The expertise which Fuchs gains in racing flows into the development of lubricants for motorcyclists on the road. The result is high performance two-wheel engine oils ensuring optimal lubrication under the most extreme conditions – just like the new Silkolene Pro 4 Plus with Electrosyntec® technology.

Silkolene Pro 4 Plus is based on a race-oil used by Kawasaki in its MotoGP bikes. The formula has been optimised for use in street motorcycles. Fuchs Silkolene Pro 4 Plus 5W40 is a fully synthetic ester-based four-stroke engine oil with a viscosity index so far unavailable for motorcycle oils. For the first time Electrosyntec® technology was used when developing this oil. In comparison with traditional products, this motor oil offers better engine and transmission wear protection and by reducing friction losses increases engine performance by up to 3%.

The Electrosyntec® principle: by combining special synthetic esters in a precisely calculated ratio with selected additives, the functional additives and specific components of the base oil bond well with the metallic surfaces within the engine. The contact is formed by the so-called polar part of the ingredients which is produced from negatively charged atoms and remains bonded to the surface by means of electrostatic adhesion. Electrosyntec® technology optimises this electric charge. Friction losses throughout the entire engine are considerably reduced as a result. This increases engine efficiency and performance, while decreasing wear and fuel consumption.

A whole series of Fuchs engine oils are benefiting from the development of Electrosyntec® technology. Fuchs has accordingly modified selected Silkolene products for race, ride and scooter applications.

Silkolene engine oils are available at specialist dealers. Visit www.silkolene.com on the internet for more information from Fuchs about these products.
