Cold forming lubricant, chlorine-free, dual purpose

RENOFORM 457 is a chlorine-free, EP cold forming lubricant which can perform many difficult cold forming operations. RENOFORM 457 is especially formulated to be non-corrosive to copper and copper alloys. This means that it can be used on both sides of the machine, the die side and the machine lubricant side. Two important advantages are:

  1. It ends the problem of contaminating the machine lubricant with die lubes which can be corrosive to non-ferrous bearings.

  2. Dilution of the die lube by machine lubes causes changes in viscosity and EP content of the die lube. When RENOFORM 457 is used in both ends of the machine, this will not occur and potential tooling problems will be avoided.
Benefits of using RENOFORM 457:

  • Provides EP lubrication to prevent metal pick-up on tooling

  • Suitable for a wide variety of cold forming operations

  • Dual purpose - can be used as both a die lubricant and a machine lubricant

  • Good heat removal properties

  • Easily cleaned in most conventional cleaning systems

  • Non hazardous to use - contains no toxic ingredients
Application:

Die Lubricant: Normally used as supplied.
Can be applied directly to the wire or rod on small one and two die headers. Should be flowed directly on the dies and punches on large headers or parts formers. Can be diluted with blending oil for less difficult operations. Machine Lubricant: Always use as supplied.
