New Soft Paraffin (Petroleum Jelly) manufacturing plant commissioned by Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc

A new Soft Paraffin (Petroleum Jelly) manufacturing plant has recently been commissioned by Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England. The manufacturing process mirrors that of the Belper Plant where high quality Soft Paraffin had been manufactured for over 40 years. However 21st century technology from Siemens has been utilised for process control.

The PCS7 software is batch flexible and provides extremely accurate control of critical parameters such as temperatures, pressures and vacuums, plus the capability to manufacture tailor made products complying with specific customer requirements.

The Hanley plant has double the capacity of the Belper plant.

Vacuum steam stripping is utilised in the manufacturing process with the following benefits

Very stable product produced

Removal of all solvents and light ends which may be present in the selected highly refined waxes and oils

Fuchs Lubricants (UK) plc are currently the only company in Europe manufacturing Soft Paraffin's BP under a licence granted by the Medicines Control Agency in compliance with GMP and the Medicines Act 1968. Each Product has a unique Product Licence number.
